Chinese hamsters (Cricetulus griseus) were originally from the deserts of Mongolia and northern China. These animals were previously often, especially in China, were used for medical research. In some countries, the USA, for example, in California, considered them pests, and for holding them, growing and selling should have a special permit.
Chinese hamsters are very clean animals and spend many hours cleaning and decorating their hair. The female carries 18-22 days and have 4-8 young, and sometimes even 14th Litter after the female feeds the young for another 3-4 weeks. 10 days after the young stems may see, and they start getting hair and after 2 months of becoming sexually mature.



As a young, Chinese hamsters are a little nervous animals, but when they grow up, comes to the fore their calm and gentle character, and are very popular pets.

Weight: young hamsters: 2 - 3 grams, adult hamsters: 50 - 75 grams
  •  Gestation Period: 18 - 21 days 
  •  Lifetime: 2 - 3 years 
  •  Number of fingers: the front legs: 5 (thumb is hardly) the last five 
  •  Food: the pet shop you can buy prepared foods for your hamster.
